 Kanika African Sculptures

These stunning traditional and contemporary African mask sculptures are hand-carved out of clay, painted with African designs and ethnic colors, and fired in a kiln to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit to maximize their strength and beauty. Stones from the coast, beadwork, leather, jute, or shells ensure that each African mask sculpture is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Some of the ethnic masks are Kanika's renditions of African wood carvings and others are more contemporary. Kanika believes her African ancestors work through her fingers to create each authentic piece of art. Click on a picture to view a larger image of each African mask sculpture.
